It does what it claims to perfect. I used DarkAdapted for this in the past, but this App is much simpler and easier to use. And it comes for free.

A workaround with tescosuicides issue is to disable automatic brightness adjustment in the Displays preferences, then the slider keeps where you put it. Although it would be nice if Brightness Slider has the option to override the preferences as long as it is active.
